A Large Clock occurs as 1948 film noir thriller set inside Up to date York City according to a novel by Kenneth Fearing. A black-and-white film was directed by John Farrow and starred Ray Milland. Real-life married few Elsa Lanchester and Charles Laughton appear in the film, as does Harry Morgan in an early film role as a film's leased toughie. A picture is told inside flashback. Plot
Stroud, the workaholic trying to spend more instance using his married woman, plans the vacation from either his job as a magazine crime newsman. Instead of meeting his married woman to begin their vacation, Stroud starts sucking down & lives the evening by using a blonde. Late a blonde is witnessed dead & Stroud is tasked by his Hearst-like publication stamp (Laughton) to buy a killer. When investigating, Stroud strains to keep a information of his nighttime by having a woman a secret because he knows he has been seen allowing the scene of the crime.

A film was one of 400 films on the candidate listings for the American Film Institute's "100 Years 100 Thrills" listings of the greatest thrillers inside Western film history. A story was remade in 1987 as No Way Out with Kevin Costner. A 1948 version is additional similar to the novel.
